The best Christmas album in the world, ever

We’re not pulling your cracker when we say that the best Christmas album in the world ever isn’t by loony gun-loving maverick producer, Phil Spector, it’s actually a downbeat collection of festive songs by a Mormon ‘slowcore’ act from Duluth, Minnesota.
Released in 1999, Low’s Christmas is required seasonal listening here at PopJunkie H.Q, but due to its deathly pace, it’s best to stick it on the stereo when the office Xmas party is finished and you’re sat on your own at 2 am, drunk as a skunk and wondering why that nice girl in accounts didn’t want your tongue shoved down her throat . . .

What could possibly be any camper than Christmas? Er, how about Elton John’s wedding? Elton has married long time boyfriend David Furnish. After 11 years together, the couple were finally legally able to wed now that the UK allows same-sex civil union. It gives a whole new meaning to Elton’s song Can You Feel The Love Tonight? – and as for "It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside…." we’d better not go there.
