Billy Preston, dies aged 59

BillyprestonripBilly Preston, the man who has graced hundreds of great records, has died aged 59. Preston is most well known for his work with The Beatles at the tail end of their career, as well as excellent work with The Rolling Stones and Little Richard. Preston was also seen playing live with the Fab Four on the infamous Apple rooftop gig.

Billy is also heard on Ray Charles, Mahalia Jackson and Syreeta tunes, and of course, his own solo work which includes ‘Will it Go ‘Round in Circles’ recently covered by Paul Weller.

Preston had been in a coma for a number of months, after years of drug abuse finally caught up with him.[Mof Gimmers]
