Ace folk get into Fred Neil’s eponymous LP

FredneilFred Neil is the daddy of US folk. Sure ’nuff, Bob Dylan helped it along, but Neil stayed truer to the cause, whilst still managing to break some new ground. His eponymous LP is probably his most famous, and boy, deservedly so. This LP has Fred’s two most famous songs featured. Firstly, the magnificent ‘The Dolphins’, covered by everyone from Tim Buckley, to the Black Crowes. More famous than that, is the much covered ‘Everybody’s Talkin”, but no other artist has ever surpassed Neil’s version. For anyone interested in rootsy, earthy folk music, Fred Neil is yer man.
