Tate to hold Brian Wilson exhibition

An exhibition exploring the life and music of Brian Wilson in the 60s is to open at the Tate Gallery in St Ives in May.

The exhibition consists of paintings, sculptures, installations and photo films that explores the brilliant mind which drove The Beach Boys into weird and often wonderful places from 1962 and 1967.

The loosely chronological exhibits also helps to explore recent art development through the works of the thirty-one Southern Californian artists who help unravel a new perspective of Wilson’s cultural achievements.

Tate St Ives is the perfect setting for the Beach Boys’ exhibition – it’s placed by Porthmeor Beach, ‘a glorious stretch of sand where surf is usually up.’

"If Everybody had an Ocean: Brian Wilson: An Art Exhibition" takes place from May 26 to September 23.
